Q&A: Cathy Leikhim, Midland GOP Chair
So, Cathy, you're the Chair of the Midland GOP. Tell us, what's it like to be at the helm of the party in this town?
It's a real privilege to be the Chair of the Midland GOP. I'm passionate about my community, and I believe in the values that the Republican party stands for. Our local politics are really important to me. We're working hard to make sure our community is a place where everyone can thrive and succeed.
And what are some of the biggest challenges the Midland GOP faces?
You know, it's tough out there. There's a lot of division in our country right now, and that's reflected here in Midland. We're seeing a lot of polarization, and it can be hard to bridge the gaps. We're facing challenges with misinformation and a lot of people being quick to jump to conclusions. It's all about finding common ground and working together.
What are your priorities as Chair?
My top priorities are getting more people involved, building a strong grassroots movement, and making sure our voices are heard. I want to encourage everyone to get out and vote, and to hold our elected officials accountable. I'm also focused on recruiting and supporting candidates who share our values and will fight for our community.
Let's talk about the recent election. What are your thoughts on the outcome?
It was a tough election for us. We didn't get the results we wanted. But we're not giving up! We're learning from our mistakes, and we're regrouping for the next election. We're committed to building a stronger Republican party here in Midland.
What message would you give to people who might not be familiar with the Midland GOP?
I'd say this: we're a group of people who believe in individual freedom, limited government, and a strong economy. We're passionate about our community, and we're working to make Midland a better place to live, work, and raise a family. We're always open to new members and ideas. Come join us!
What are your hopes for the future of the Midland GOP?
I want to see the Midland GOP grow stronger and more engaged than ever. We need to continue to connect with voters, build relationships, and make sure we're representing the values of our community. I'm confident that we can build a brighter future for Midland, and the Republican party is going to be a big part of that.
Thank you for your time, Cathy. Anything else you'd like to add?
We're working hard here in Midland. It's not always easy, but we're making progress. We're fighting for what we believe in, and we're not going to give up. We're committed to building a better future for our community.
