Rockin' Out:
1. The Chats - High Risk Behaviour (April 2023)
These Queensland punk rockers are back with their second album, and it's a wild ride from start to finish. High Risk Behaviour is packed with infectious riffs, rebellious lyrics, and a whole lot of Aussie slang. If you're looking for an album to blast while you're cruising down the coast, this is it.
2. DMA'S - How Many Dreams (August 2023)
DMA'S are no strangers to making catchy, guitar-driven tunes. How Many Dreams is their fourth album, and it shows a band at the top of their game. This record is full of emotional depth and anthemic choruses that are guaranteed to stick in your head.
Beyond the Rock:
1. Tame Impala - Currents (July 2015)
This is the album that truly cemented Tame Impala's place as one of the biggest acts in Australia. Currents is a psychedelic masterpiece, full of slinky grooves and spacey soundscapes. If you haven't heard it yet, do yourself a favour and give it a spin.
2. The Avalanches - We Will Always Love You (August 2016)
We Will Always Love You is a huge album, both in terms of its ambition and its length. It's a tapestry of sounds, sampling everything from disco to hip-hop to classical music. It's an audacious record that will have you hitting the repeat button for days.
