BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors oversee the scientific, fiscal, and administrative operations of the CNAES. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing accountability to NSERC; contributing partners and network members; provide periodic evaluations of progress towards the Network’s objectives; ensuring fiscal responsibility; making adjust – ments to goals, priorities, milestones, and timeframes; incorporating new ideas, net – work members and partners; aid in the communication of network results to end users, policy makers, and the general public.

SCIENCE COMMITTEE

The Science Committee monitors the progress of the Network’s research projects. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: reviewing research projects annually and providing feedback; promoting and enhance communication and collaboration amongst Network members; making recommendations regarding the allocation of funds and resources; identifying new projects, partners, and members for recommendation to the Board of Directors.

HQP COMMITTEE

The HQP Committee is composed of CNAES students and post-doctoral fellows. The objectives of the HQP Committee are to:

  • Communicate the interests of HQPs regarding future workshop training;
  • Improve the networking capacity of the network between and within themes;
  • Improve the data and information sharing within the network;
  • Improve the academic integration within themes via reading and webinar groups;
  • Improve the sharing of skills between network members;
  • Improve transparency between the HQP and Science Committee;
  • Organize working groups to address large-scale questions related to ecosystem services;
  • Improve the overall scientific communication skills of HQP.
